Israel
Israel is a young, yet modern country founded in 1948. Sometimes called the Holy Land, due to its biblical significance, or Start-up Nation because of its well-developed high-tech sector, Israel is diverse in culture, nature, and religion. Jerusalem, the capital, is a city sacred to the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions. Visit the Western Hall (Kotel), Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and Al Aqsa Mosque. Here it is possible to find ancient ruins dating back 1000s of years, holy sites, and many shops and restaurants closed on the Sabbath. Walking down the street one might hear Hebrew, Arabic, Yiddish, Russian, French or English spoken. Less than one hour’s drive north, situated on the beautiful Mediterranean Coast is Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv is the Middle East’s answer to New York City: a non-stop party place filled with young people, unique Bauhaus architecture, parks and outdoor cafes. Continuing north is the port city of Haifa which is built into the hills of the Carmel Mountain range. Haifa is a city where people of many faiths including Druze, Jewish, Muslim, and Christian live in harmony. Haifa is an important pilgrimage site for members of the Baha’i religion. Israel also has a vast desert, the Negev, which is home to many plants species, animals and Bedouin.
The best way to explore Israel is through a vacation package. With a vacation package, you won’t feel confined to just one city – especially when Israel has so much to offer!
