In this tour we will guide you through the Galilee region exploring local culture and taste.
In the ancient city of Akko we’ll experience a unique demonstration and tasting in the Old Akko Market. Every culinary adventure….starts with the market and tastings will include Arabic cuisine; kanafeh and baklava + cup of coffee or tea with mint.
Learning about the raw materials and influences of the East and West (sugar cane, spices and more) will give insight into how Akko evolved over the years.
We will walk through the Templar Tunnel, which served as a strategic underground passageway that connected the Fortress to the port.
Leaving Akko we will head out east to the heart of the Galilee and meet with a goatherd in his pasture and discover the advantages of the goat farm, herding and preparation of traditional and healthy cheeses.
Here we will have a chance to taste the fresh variety of cheeses.
Continuing the culinary flavors next we arrive in the Druze Village: Hurfeish to taste the Druze Galilean cuisine.
During an introduction to the Druze religion, there is a demonstration of stuffing vine leaves and courgettes as well as preparation of falafel and here we will enjoy lunch.
Lastly, we will learn about the wine/beer
in the Israeli northern community through a tasting tour before we head back to the cruise ship happy and fulfilled.
