Journey through thousands of years of history—all on foot!
Begin the day walking along the Ramparts of the Jerusalem Old City wall. Enjoy the fresh air and view of Jerusalem. Experience a once in a life time opportunity to get close to some of the Old City’s holy sites. Exit the Ramparts and walk along the Cardo, the ancient roman road. Visit the four synagogues restored in 1967 after Jerusalem was reunified. See the Hurva Synagogue, the largest temple in the Old City. Take some time to visit the Kotel (Western Wall), the holiest site for the Jewish People. Visitors from all around the world come to pray here through words and notes placed into the stones of the wall. Next, walk along the Via Dolorosa, in the footsteps of Jesus. Enter the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where the Crucifixion occurred.
Reach the Old City’s Bazaar; look at jewelry, scarfs and crafts of all types. Walk further into the bazaar, past the tourist goods and get a glimpse of where the locals shop. Take in the smell of spices, fresh fruits and pastries.
End the day with a lunch of freshly squeezed pomegranate juice from a street vendor or try some homemade falafel and a sesame bagel.
